Description

Like real fish mermaids (the P.A. version) lay several eggs, but the don't lay their eggs at home. As a tradition, the Mermaids have a special river reserved for them to lay their eggs and leave them to hatch. Over time the eggs will become a fully grown baby mermaid while at the same time they will swim their way back to the mermaid capital. All mermaids are born with the instinct of where the capital is, so all Mermaid parents wait at the capital for their eight month offspring to arrive. Now because in The P.A. world the mermaids are endangered there are now several precautions taken to ensure as many mermaid babies return home. First there are soldiers position in such a manner that a border is created to ensure no mermaid offspring gets lost. Also, spells are casted on the eggs, so in the case predators eat the eggs they will still be born. There is one acception however, The crown mermaid offspring receive no special treatment. In fact The path the crown offspring must take is far more dangerous than the traditional path, Why? because the mermaids believe that the only good leader is a strong, and smart enough leader to survive this trial. Lucy (the current next heir to the throne) was the only one out of six eggs to return to the capital when she was born.
